Our Male Allies If Black women are to advance in the workplace, they will need the assistance of their male allies—such as this outstanding group

By Jackie Krentzman

Black women recognize that they carry a burden of having to be twice as good as anyone else to get ahead. That understanding can instill a helpful sense of self-reliance, but it also can be pressure packed.
That’s why all of us, especially Black women, need allies. Workplace allies can play a multitude of roles: informal (or formal) mentor and sponsor, connector to leadership development opportunities, coach, or simply someone

A Davos Week Unlike Any Other

Against the backdrop of a global pandemic crippling economies and restricting livelihoods around the world, more pressure than ever was on the business and world leaders who last week convened for the World Economic Forum’s non-traditional Davos Agenda virtual summit. With many sessions openly broadcast to the global public and the Forum’s 25 million social media followers, the abbreviated week of insightful programming marked the launch of the Forum’s Great Reset Initiative and began the preparation of the hoped-for, in-person Special Annual Meeting in Singapore this coming spring.

As leaders discussed global challenges that have risen to the

From COVID-19 and racial justice to labor rights and the ongoing debate on what “unity” looks like, and as the U.S. focuses on the opportunities and issues that come with a new presidential administration, corporate citizens are now expected to have POV on a broad range of urgent and complicated topics.

It’s clear from Ketchum’s own research that the past year has radically changed consumer behavior, with an increasing number of consumers expecting brands to take a stand on issues of the day. Ketchum’s Brand Reckoning 2020 study found that 88% said the coronavirus has made it more important

Dear Diary, I Have a 35-year Love Affair with Paper

When I was a little girl, I started writing “Dear Diary” in a small blush pink hardcover book with a silver lock. It came with two small silver keys that I hid in a secret drawer in my jewelry box. That little girl shared about her day’s adventures, with updates on her friends, names of a few frenemies and deep secrets. I’m pretty sure she announced her new baby sister was coming home from the hospital, before we even knew she was a girl. All these years later, not much has changed. I like to think she’s evolved, a

Today, I’d like to share one of the most important entrepreneurial lessons I’ve learned over my 20+ years in business: success in business is a long game.

I met a woman not too long ago who said, “Fabienne, I have been blogging every day, video blogging every day for six weeks…and I haven’t seen results. Nobody’s commenting, nobody’s sharing and nobody’s buying!”

Here’s what I said to her: “It’s not about quick results. I know we want it to be, but in the world that we live in now, everyone is bombarded with messages. You are bombarded

Choose and Hold Boundaries

Clients are experiencing new stressors when working from home.  A recent client was struggling with separating work time from family time.  After they finished their work for the day, they continued getting phone calls from someone wanting something.  It was easy to step back over to their computer and take care of it.  Within a few months they were working 12 hours a day.  What are the boundaries?  What is the workday schedule?

Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries is a common challenge.  When there is a call or email with a last-minute request, what are the options?  If

In 2021, Vision and Visibility Are No Longer Electives for CEOs

As our nation reeled in the aftermath of the attack on the U.S. Capitol, a man whose mission is to fight for justice noticed a shift from the C-suite. “CEOs have become the fourth branch of government,” the Anti-Defamation League’s Jonathan Greenblatt told The New York Times. “They’re trying to hold the country together.”

For years, communications counselors have helped CEOs navigate the opportunities for executive visibility. A month into 2021, it’s clearer than ever that for most executives, this is no longer an optional part of the job.

The recent news that the U.S. is weighing the possibility of requiring a negative COVID-19 test for domestic air travel is a strong reminder of how important the vaccine is for the travel industry, and for all of us who travel for personal or business reasons. The travel, hospitality and leisure sector was one of the hardest hit by the pandemic, accounting for almost four in 10 U.S. jobs lost since February 2020, according to analysis of the latest Department of Labor national jobs report. I’ve been hearing this one question a lot recently: “Fabienne, what did you actually DO to multiply your income so quickly? How did you get to 7 figures? Can I do it too?”

Yes, you can do it too.

It comes down to several different things: authentic and compelling marketing, systems for everything, a team, different sources of income, leverage…

…but those are actually the easy part, because you can be shown exactly how to do this (we show you how in Boldheart Business).

The difficult part is actually a two step process, one so

We’re all aware of the fact that COVID-19 has changed life as we know it in this country (and the world). Because of this pandemic, there is a new level of complexity in everything we do. Whether it’s having to mask up, sanitize grocery cart handles, and remember not to touch your face before washing your hands just to shop for your family’s dinner, or running your business’s operations safely by instituting new protocols designed to keep your workers healthy, COVID has inserted all sorts of new steps into old processes.

The Talents of Impactful Coaches

Perhaps you have heard the old tale of a woodcutter who so impressed their king that they were given the most important areas of forest to cut.  In the beginning the volume of cutting was impressive.  Over time that volume became less and less.  The woodcutter was perplexed because they were working the same number of hours and working just as hard.  Why were they cutting less?  With time the axe had become dull and less effective.  The woodcutter simply had to sharpen their axe and then they were once again cutting at the high volume.

“People will go where they are given an increase.” – Wallace Wattles

Too many solo-entrepreneurs, especially women, tend to downplay their successes. They either don’t stop long enough to see how much they’ve actually accomplished, or they’re too shy to share with others how well things are going, for fear of bragging.

(And yes, bragging is annoying because it’s usually done with the purpose of making others feel inferior. This is NOT what I’m talking about today. We’re talking about sharing successes and inspiring others through our own example so they begin to believe in themselves.)

The demands of e-commerce and the impact it has had on traditional retail have made speed and efficiency absolutely essential. Warehousing is a critical link in the supply chain, and as such it needs to adopt every technological advantage to keep up with consumers’

Limiting Beliefs

Limiting beliefs are things we say to ourselves based on assumptions and perceptions of our reality.

How does a limiting belief hold us back in life?  We believe what we tell ourselves.  If we tell ourselves we can’t, then we don’t.  If we tell ourselves we should or must we resist the implied external control.

Where do these limiting beliefs come from?  As with other beliefs, they come from our culture, education, familial beliefs, and personal experiences in life.  As we learn and experience, so we believe.

How do we know if we have a limiting belief?  We

Limiting beliefs are beliefs that inhibit us from our full potential.  They constrain us by merely thinking them.  Limiting beliefs are about ourselves, our identity, others, or the world in general.

Examples of some common limiting beliefs are simple, everyday statements:

I should/shouldn’t or must/ mustn’t:

We ARE bound by the law.  We are NOT bound by our should or must.  For example, we may say, “I should clean the house every day.”  Saying “should” makes it less likely to happen and we have not broken any laws anyways.  We may

It’s part science, part spring weather and part wishful thinking: this sense that we’re starting to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. The calendar helps reinforce that impression too, because it’s been a year since we shut down, and our brains like round numbers.

Common issues and challenges facing manufacturers in 2021

We can all agree that 2020 was quite the tumultuous year for manufacturing, and for most every other industry out there. We’ve all had to pivot on a dime to accommodate COVID-19 workplace protocols and procedures, and that one change alone hit manufacturing especially hard. When the simple act of getting onto the shop floor for a shift takes more time than ever before (with temperature checks and other procedures), and with fewer people on the job at one time because of distancing measures, productivity numbers go down very quickly. That’s to say nothing of supply chain disruptions,
